Exams are over!
Well, the long expected day has arrived. As the exams come to an end, we will find find ourselves less busy and for some others, more relaxing. But, ungratefully, the examination results aren't out yet so well, hope all of you get your preferred grades or even better. It will not help fretting over spilt water now or you will feel like a fish out of water so relax and enjoy the days to come. Oh yah, remember to still practice your instruments. Don't go rusty like Mrs Chua said.

stuff
long time since i posted. good to see people still post. anyway, about this music and PT thing. how about having both on the same day? we can do like 1h of practise and 1h of PT, can right? for attendance, i don't expect everyone to turn up but try to. We're trying to put the batch together.

we're sec 2 now. if you really love the band, your way forward is clear. put aside your differences and work together. it is the only way we will succeed. with teamwork we can move forward. if not, we'll never progress.

if the sec 3s can successfully plan and execute batch pt/ stuff, why can't we? besides its gonna be held after mid years so theres no excuse saying u need to study.

unless red alert la.

=_______=

anyway the current batch situation is improving, much better than when we were in sec 1. i hope we can pull through this and do sjimb proud, together.

Adding on to joshua's blog
Music on Mondays
- practice simple songs as a batch before attempting harder songs
- scales
- long notes
- tongueing exercises
- slurs
- intonation
- all are encouraged to turn up

PT on Fridays
- 2 people will be notified 1 week in advance to lead in PT
- they will plan a PT schedule
- arm training, abs training, leg training, etc
- running around the track must be done as a batch
- those who failed NAPFA are encouraged to turn up

This post-mid-year-exam-activities activity is not compulsory but your attendance will show how much you actually care for your batch.

Kudos to all who still visit this blog.
Mid-year coming up. Yeah, study hard, work hard, get good grades and all the other motivational talk. Just imagine I wrote that here.

What I really need to discuss with our batch is what comes after Mid-years. A suggestion states that we should come down on Mondays and Fridays for own practice and PT session. Now before everyone goes "CANNOT, got sectionals, got tuition, got laziness", lemme clarify this is all optional and all in the interest of SYF 2011. When posed this idea, I thought that if at least 10 or so people turn up ONCE, it would make our seniors really proud. If any of you think that this is an effort for us to be seen as not totally useless batch, you can excuse yourself, the batch cannot force you. For the others who want to make an effort to play well, to refine our skills in conveying messages through music, to those who want the oppurtunity learn how to play like your seniors, and most importantly, those who find a place for themselves in our batch, please make an effort to come down at least once a month or so to play as a batch, or do PT as a batch.

I will try to convince our sec 3s to conduct us, point out mistakes etc. In the event of no sec 3 coming down to the bandroom, we can rotate conducting duties amongst the batch. PT, we will take turns to plan our course of action. Note that these sessions can last as short or long as we want, no need to make it as long as a parade.

I hope that all of you can dedicate even the most minute minute (my-newt me-knit) to just attend one of these days. Although no one expects full attendance our attendance for all practice dates, those who can commit will be greatly appreciated.

This idea is on shaky foundation, we may meet up to get a set date on which days will be PT which days music. We may change the contents of the day's activities according to our needs, so just keep in mind what we may start doing AFTER mid-years.
