Through it all
AP is approaching. Other than SYF, it is the other most important event every year in the SJIMB. Memorising the marching songs and overcoming the challenge of being able to march and play your instrument simultaneously. These are some of the difficulties that you might be facing. Sometimes, they cant be tackled alone. No matter how much effort you put in, how much blood you shed, how much perspiration you sweat, you cant seem to get it right. That is why you have a batch. That is why WE have a batch. From the very first day we entered the doorway leading to our band life, we were destined to be stuck with this batch for 4 entire years. This batch is not an extra group of people who will condemn you to the 18th level of hell but instead, we are here to overcome all problems TOGETHER. Not alone, but as one. Think this bullshit? Then think again...will we be able to forever rely on our seniors? maybe yes to a certain extent, but they will pass out before you even know it. The sec 4 batch of 2009 will be stepping down in less than 2 weeks, the sec3s in 1 year and 2 weeks. However, the batch will be with you until the very day you leave the SJIMB. You cant escape from this fact. If you really hate the batch, then think about Poon. We share a common interest--Music. We share a common goal--Unity and success for the band. Douglas on the other hand, gave up the honour of being in the best CCA you can ever find. Yes it is sad and as Joshua said: "Although his name has become a joke, without him, the trombone section is left with one sec4 in SYF 11." Sec2s'09, do not slacken. Just put in that little effort to come down to the bandroom and practice by yourself at least once a week. Do not skip sectionals. Take parades seriuosly. BE ONE WITH THE BATCH. We must, no matter what, be united. The fate of the SJIMB lies in our hands--we are the leaders of tomorrow. Sacrifice your time and prepare your ceremonials properly. Master your instrument. It is not impossible. IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING. AP is just round the corner. Put in your heart and soul into it. WE ARE THE BATCH OF 2011!
