Succes
If any of you read the horn section blog (although i doubt anyone actually does, you would have read that the 1 thing which determines our success is DISCIPLINE.

To begin with, discipline will tell you that you should improve your musical skills. You can either bring your instrument home and practice or the ideal choice is to go down to the bandroom after school and practice and seek help if neccesary. Sectionals are no joke too. We will be the sec4 batch of 2011, the next SYF year, and no we do not want to drop to a silver or else we will be the biggest joke in history. So we really need to start being serious and learn the many musical techniques and skills from our seniors so that we will be able to maintain the GWH for SYF2011. Try to turn up for every parade and absorb whatever Mr Tan and Mrs Chua say. Their words will mean alot when we are on stage and playing our choice and set piece 2 years down the road.

In addition to this, discipline will tell you that unity is very important. when we play a song, we want to play music and not individual players blasting their own part. similarly, we need to be united. treat each other like brothers. do not insult each other but instead help each other up when someone falls and encourage him to strive to achieve success. we are the leaders of tmr. if we go solo and remain disunited like what we are now, what will our juniors think of us? unity is very important. even if you want to pass out without leaving anything goof behind in the band, at least cherish the special bonds we had during our term in the SJIMB.

Last but not least, Discipline makes you attend the sectionals your heart tells you you can afford to miss. Discipline makes you practice when you have only just enough time to play your computer games. Discipline makes you put your pencils on your stands without being told, makes you look at Mr Tan when you must, makes you what you are--A Bandsman.

Want to get that gold at the end of the rainbow? Get the discipline to run there first.

So from now onwards can we be more serious about parades? about sectionals? about who we are and what we want to do? its not that hard. All we need to do is to put in that little bit of effort. IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING. after all, we are the batch of 2011 rite?

Signing off,
Samuel
