For those who think studies are a breeze, lucky you, treasure this moment, it won't last long with all the binomials and stages of photosynthesis(light and dark) and electromagnetic spectrum and covalent/metallic bonding and falling apart etc etc etc. Good luck to us all.
As for SYF, I'm sure everyone heard what Mr. Tan said/exclaimed in exasperated fury, so I won't write another page of repetitive philosophy. Just be prepared and work hard.
Sec 1s are coming in, PSLs, do your job. Make the sec 1s join band, impart school values, make the sec 1s join band, welcome them with warm smiles, make the sec 1s join band, teach them by example, make the sec 1s join band, be kind yet firm, make the sec 1s join band.... Not any one point is most crucial, all of them are more or less important, most of them are less, with the first and last ones being more.
Anyway, waves of challenge and difficulty will come and hit us like Katrina in New Zealand, and we may face them like fishermen before the tsunami, but whatever happens, remember that your batch should be the closest thing in band and in SJI, like your class, just 4 years old. And when life seems to get sien, and you just want to play Mousehunt for the rest of your life, just do your best to find that spec of fun and embrace it.
